First of all, I know that in history this King is a very bad guy, but I usually don’t think about the “real” history when I watch a historical drama. The King we have here doesn’t seem that bad. There is still hope for him. He’s hurt, he’s insecure, but he wants to do better. He doesn’t want to kill his brother, but he’s got to follow political rules with his decisions—something that was well explained by Chae Kyung’s father at some point. Still, he’s trying to protect Yeok somehow. Until now, in the drama, he seems like a somewhat decent King. He’s not the puppet King we usually see in Kdramas, and he’s not completely crazy either.
